The first season, released in early 2022, introduces viewers to the world that awakens after the sun sets in the six popular Asian cities of Tokyo (Japan), Seoul (Korea), Mumbai (India), Taipei (Taiwan), Manila (Philippines), and Bangkok (Thailand). The director of this series is a Welshman by the name of Joe Evans, who uncovers how the night owls of these cities have followed their dreams until they achieved the success they enjoy today.
In reference to two popular Netflix programs, this docuseries has been defined as a combination of the excellent food presentation of Street Food Asia and the exceptional plots of Midnight Diner: Tokyo Stories.
