The Stranded

About
The Stranded

As a first Netflix Original from Thailand, all eyes were on The Stranded (เคว้ง) after its release in November 2019. With the phenomenal support it attracted from Thai fans, the series became the most-watched release for Thai fans in 2019, according to Netflix’s annual most popular series ranking.

The Stranded’s 7 episodes were directed by Sophon “Jim” Sakdaphisit, a famed writer-director of various supernatural works, including the successful ghost movie Laddaland. The series also gave a debut to the late actor Papangkorn “Beam” Lerkchaleampote, who played the role of “Kraam,” the main character who tries to survive being stranded on Pintu Island and maintain the hope of staying alive in the face of mysterious happenings that seemed to be working against the island’s stranded inhabitants.

An interesting aspect of this series is the supernatural phenomenon that the 36 students have to face after being stranded on an island wrecked by a tsunami. Jim and his team of 8 writers spin a smooth and seamless tale of belief and mystery as viewers try to understand what happened on the island.

Apart from a heavyweight like Sinjai Plengpanich, who plays Miss Lin, a teacher who is another essential character, the series gives opportunities to several young actors appear in the series, including Chutavuth Pattarakampol, Oabnithi Wiwattanawarang, and Chayanit Chansangavej.

The answer to what happens to the students stranded on Pintu Island can be found by watching all 7 episodes of The Stranded only on Netflix.
